Takata airbag recall

I'm taking my car in tomorrow.to have the airbags fixed. Has anyone bad this done and know.how.long I can expect the wait to be? TIA

I did mine a few weeks ago. Took 15 minutes.

Made me a little worried, though, because both the customer service person who booked my appointment and the head of service who took my keys told me it would be about an hour to take care of it.

I'm not sure if it's improved since last month, but I had to wait more than a week for the new one to "come in". Made the call as soon as we realized we were part of the recall, and the dealer said they'd call me when the part came in - they never called me back so I called again and they had the part later the next week.

My husband is a mechanic and does these recalls all the time. The number of parts are limited because there are SO MANY vehicles effected by the recall, but it really does only take minutes to do. Its not a long process at all.

Thanks for your responses. It's actually my BF's car and we didn't know if he could wait for it or if I should've gone to pick him up while it was being worked on.

It turns out that the dealership never checked his appointment to see what he was coming in for and told him when he got there that they didn't have the part. They told him they requested it from another dealer and it will be in tomorrow but he might not have the car back until Saturday.
