tag / tag jr or just an app on the ipad

So my DD has tag jr - she is 4 but she NEVER used it - Spent a ton of $$ on books for really nothing - Now that reading is something I really want her to do and enjoy I was looking to get the Tag or something similur but then DH mentioned the ipad which she already has so I am thinking she really doesnt need another electronic device right?

what app is the best for reading for a 4 year old or am i better off getting something designed for readying like the tag or something similar..

hope this makes sense... LOL

We got DD1 the Tag when she was 4 because it is backwards compatible with the Tag jr books.

She wasn't really into it until this year (she's 5), but she uses it a lot now so I think it was worth it for the $35 we spent on it.

the tag reader, which is for the older kids, works with both tag and tag junior books.

i decided to buy the tag reader for DS, haven't given it to him yet, but have bought a few tag junior books. I figured it was better to have the older pen that he can grow into, but yet still use the age appropriate books for now since he is almost 2 year old.
