Switching doctors
I am so stressed. My first appt is this thursday and I just found out DH's company is switching insurance at the end of the month. This doctor doesn't take the new insurance.
Has anyone switched doctors while pregnant? Is it a hassle? Have you had a challenge with other doctors not wanting to accept you?
DH will have a choice of EPO and POS - we have historically always done EPO but now I am thinking POS would give us more options.
So annoyed as they aren't giving us a lot of time to make a decision!

Re: Switching doctors
I just switched doctors due to insurance also. I made my 1st appointment with the new doctor a few weeks ago. I am 32 weeks today
It was upsetting really, not so much a hassle. I really liked my OB, but I couldn't justify the huge deductible and hospital copay, etc to stay on with him. I didn't have an issue getting the new doctor to take me on, but it is difficult to have to adjust to a new doctor/office this late in the game. My old OB was very understanding and helpful in getting my records out to the new one.
IMO, I always found a POS plan to be better than an EPO as far as particpating doctors, so you might want to consider that since you are looking for a new doc.
Good luck!

Re: Switching doctors
I switched doctors at 10 weeks and it wasn't really a hassle at all. I asked my current dr for my records, which took about 1-2 weeks to get. Just make sure you call for appointments early enough for your new dr. YOu don't want to wait til the day your insurance changes.
