Swing
DD is 5 weeks old and constantly wants to be held. She will fall asleep in my arms but wake up when I put her down. It's difficult bc I have a 15 month old also. I think she would benefit from a swing but I just don't have the room for it!
Does anyone have or know of a swing that doesn't take up much room? I have the my little lamb swing but the legs take up so much space!

I have the snugabunny one and the legs are huge. Also have the mamaroo.
They make travel swings though that seem more compact.

I also have the Snugabunny swing and it's huge. My sister has this one at her house for when she babysits and it's a fraction of the size of mine and works really well: Portable Swing

Re: Swing
Make room for it! It's a lifesaver, especially for those early months. We had the snug a bunny and DS loved it until we have 5 months old. We put it in the corner of our bedroom.

Re: Swing
Have you tried her first In the rock n play? We had equal success with this as the swing bc dd cared more about that cuddly cradly feeling around her and less about the actual motion of the swing. And it folds up flat and is portable.

W had a portable swing and it was pretty small. My kid hated it though.
See if you can borrow one for a while to make sure she actually likes it forst

We had the small portable one bc we didn't want to take up much space but it ended up going to waste bc dd hated it. I don't know if it was the swing itself she didn't like or of she just didnt want to be put down at all. I think it was the latter. We also had the rock n play and the vibrating bouncy seat, and she screamed no matter where I put her. She moved past that stage after a few months, once she was able to hold onto and focus on a toy, but it was very tough in the beginning.

Swing
As much as this may not help we are going through the same thing with our 8 week old. She doesn't like the swing that much. She falls asleep in my arms and then I slowly and carefully out her in wither the swing or rock and play and she wakes within 10 min or immediately. It's frustrating but I asked the ped and she said she will grow out of it. She will self soothe eventually and be able to be put down. I hope so bc I go back to work in a few weeks! I would try the swing before you buy a new one.

Maybe try a ring sling or a mobs wrap. That way she can still be "held" but you have your hands free to take care of your toddler

ITA we have no space in our apartment but made room for that swing bc it was a lifesaver we have a portable one but dd napped much longer in the battery operated swing - it seemed to move more
