Swim class for 6 month old?

We are looking into swim classes for our DD.
Any experiences good or bad about starting that young? Or reccomendations on a particular class in Nassau?

TIA!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Tom at Bellmore Saf T Swim.

If that's close to you - maybe find out what classes he teaches. I only have experience with 4 instructors but he's my favorite.

Cool. Thanks! Did you do private lessons or was it a class?

I am waiting on a call back from them but do you remember how much it cost?

Re: Swim class for 6 month old?

Dd was 5 months when we started the Mommy and Me class at Saf-T-Swim in East Meadow. She was fine with it at first and by the third session was splashing and laughing. Now she absolutely loves bath time. It's almost a struggle to wash her because she's so busy playing and splashing.

I think it's good to start young. We started DS 1 at almost 13 months and he wanted no part of the organized activities. We started DS 2 at 9 1/2 mos and he's great with everything.
