Sweater dresses
At times i come across sweater dresses that are really nice, but they are short sleeves (shoulder caps) I dont get it, why make a SWEATER dress with SHORT sleeves, defeats the purpose

ITA! I have some like this and I sometimes wear a long sleeved black t-shirt underneath to cover my arms.

I've worn them both ways.
My office can get really hot in the wintertime, so sometimes, I like having the short sleeves, yet, I'm still wearing something that fits the season.

I think they are more appropriate for when it's a little warmer (fall/early spring)
I suppose you would always layer it with a nice fitted cardigan& belt.

This is what I do.
Me too -- gives you more styling options. I actually have one that I've worn a fitted button down under too.
