Sweat more burn more?
I am not a big sweater - I can work out really hard, get my heart rate to 160+ and not really sweat that bad. DH always looks at me and says you arent working hard enough but I know I am. He on the other hand will wear a sweatshirt and do cardio bc he thinks he burns more by sweating more...is this true or no??? I work out in the least amount of clothes possible bc I hate getting really hot!
Also I have heard the exact opposite - I heard that say running outdoors in the winter burns more calories bc your body is working so hard to a) run and to b) stay warm.
Thoughts?

Re: Sweat more burn more?
this is interesting b/c when I run I sweat like crazy when when i do spin or the elliptical I do not sweat nearly as much!
Sometimes I run at the gym next to ppl running faster and longer than me and I am sweating like crazy and they are not at all and I wonder is there something wrong with me??

Re: Sweat more burn more?
Sweating is just your body's way of cooling itself off & some people just naturally sweat more than others, so I don't think it's an indicator of how hard you're working out.... I think heart rate is a better indicator of this. Just like sitting in a sauna doesn't make you burn off fat.

Re: Sweat more burn more?
I always wonder how people wear a sweatshirt and run indoors or outdoors. I see those people in layers of clothing, sweating bullets and I don't get.
I don't thinks it's black and white...you sweat you burn a lot of calories...you don't sweat you don't burn. I do however sweat a lot in spin class, on the stairmill and when I run. For me, I sweat less the less effort I put in. So for my body I believe it might be an indicator, but I think everyone is different.
