Supplementing Formula when Breastfeeding...

I was just wondering because I plan on breastfeeding and formula feeding...does anyone currently do this, and if so do you use "name brand formulas" or store brands that are equally as good for baby?

Lori, I would x-post to parenting, maybe there will be more feedback.

I think your ped will put the baby on something at the hospital and that is what you wind up using, although I have no clue.

Thanks! I did xpost (forgot to mention I would...lol)
Im definatley gonna check with the ped before switching anything he would put DS on, and question him about it. I only ask because we plan on using powder formula and I noticed the "non-name brands" are about 1/2 the price os enfamil or similac. It's crazy. But if everything in in that matters, vitamins and whatnot are the same I dont see why it would make a difference.

You're definitely right. As a new mommy I was afraid to try anything not name brand but once I got over the fear it was so nice to be able to use the Target brand of Enfamil Gentlease, we saved a ton of money! It's exactly the same thing.
