Superman-Man of Steel

Went to see Man of Steel and LOVED it. If im going to sit for 2 1/2 hrs, it better be good. Story was ok, but the fight scenes were great. Hubby is more of the comic buff and was a bit surprised as to how 'dark' the move was. He liked it also.
On the web, this movie has polarized the hard core comic fans, i wondered what were the thoughts here?

Iam almost thinking they should have made the note ' This is NOT your parent's Superman'

so... what was your take on Man of Steel ?

I voted "It was ok" because I didn't absolutely love it. I did REALLY REALLY like it though. I think the whole (SPOILER ALERT)....


Superman killing Zod thing kind of upset me. Superman does not kill people. Ever. It happened once in the comic in an alternate universe, meaning in the *real* universe it never happened. It was a little disappointing that it came to that in the movie. Superman is always supposed to be THAT guy...the one who finds another way. It would be like Batman shooting someone. It just doesn't happen.

Having said that I thought Henry Cavill was AWESOME...and sexy as hell as Superman. Amy Adams and Russel Crowe were awesome too. Michael Shannon as Zod kinda sucked.
