Summer program for 2-3 yo..
My DS will be 2.5 this summer. I don't think I'm ready to send him to a camp yet.
We both work so I want to look for something for him to do this summer even if it's 2-3x a week.
Are you putting your LO in some sort of summer program? If so, what?
TIA

You say you both work- is he in daycare? We did daycare year round- in the summer they had a "camp" but it was only for the older kids- like 4 and up. The younger kids just did regular daycare

He’s in a daycare setting but you have to pay extra for Camp and it’s very expensive.

So if you don't want to pay for the camp can you just continue with daycare? Like what are working parents supposed to do in the summer?

Believe it or not, this is a thing. I called a few daycares that told me this. Legit said they're open for like 6 weeks for summer and it was an astronomical cost. I was FLOORED at how many daycares close for weeks at a time.

Honestly, I'd find another daycare that's open (like actually open, business as usual) throughout the summer.
My DD is 2 and they call it "camp" but it's really like regular daycare with more outdoor stuff. I pay monthly just like I do the rest of the year.

Re: Summer program for 2-3 yo..
My children's day care stays open all summer. There's a slight additional fee (maybe $200) for the summer because they bring in extra activities. The only places that I've ever heard of closing for an entire summer are in-home that cater to teachers only. Everyone else works during the summer, too! And if they day care is charging a lot extra for the summer, is it a day school/day camp combo? Like they have a pool during the summer? Otherwise, what's the high extra fee covering?
