Summer perennials
I am starting to think about what I want to plant in the summertime-not ready to plant, just getting ideas. What perennials do you have in your garden or are planning to plant? I planted all my spring bulbs already so am started to think about this.

I love Peonies!!!
I read that many peonies bloom until late spring or early summer-no later. Is there a variety that blooms through the summer. I'd love those.

Yeah, they're usually done by summer.

i planted a mix of the following:
roses (crawling mini apricot colored ones)
Lilly of the valley
Giant Persian Allium
Mini Allium
Foxgloves
Tulips
Purple Blazing Star
bleeding hearts
some tiny white flowers that the name escapes me
montauk daisies.
I also planted some small but should get decent size in a few years: Double Bloom Lilacs, Hydrangea, another bush that is white and green but turns pink in the summer with little white flowers.
Planting:
Blue Fragrant Lavender South side of the house (most sun) just need to get some sand to mix in the soil
I have to see what comes up and when and then see what needs to go in next but i want to fill in with some Hellebores. I should of made a master sheet out of where things got planted and when they will pop up so i could add more. I know i need some mid to late summer bloomers.

For early to late spring color I recommend planting phlox, lupine, columbine and delphinium. For summer color plant rudbeckia, peony, coneflower, and lillies.
