Suffolk County Help
Does anyone know what towns in suffolk are really nice, safe, etc..with GREAT school districts...? I'd prefer not too far out in suffolk though. Def. not as far as the hamptons.
Thanks!

Re: Suffolk County Help
I'll bring up my usual comments when someone asks about SDs.
Define "Great". Every person has a different idea. Some of the "best" SDs in the state, I wouldn't want my DC to go to.
Plenty of Special Needs support Huge sports program (good chance of getting a sports scholarship to college) Small sports program (nearly 100% chance of DC getting on a team) Big district (more diversity, and more course availability) Small district (everyone knows everyone in the school. More personal attention) Good test results
These options are mutually exclusive, and all of them could define a school as Great.
Also, a town may be considered nice, safe, etc, but certain areas of that town aren't so nice.
I'm partial to the Ronkonkoma, Islandia, Smithtown area. Connetquot is a good district.
Is Riverhead too far? Shoreham? You mention the Hamptons, but that is far, even for people who live in Suffolk.

Re: Suffolk County Help
I would suggest looking in Commack - very highly rated schools and very safe community.
