such a productive weekend

OMG I (we Chat Icon ) did so much around the house this weekend

I painted our shed - we had the house resided over the winter and I got paint color matched to match the siding - The wood shingles were so old, it soaked up 2 gallons of paint

DH hung the new front lights and pation lights - the house is beginning to look 'finished'

I weeded two huge flower beds.

I bought and planted replacement ornamental grasses that were killed off in the March warm up and freeze. I also got a pygammy barberry shrub and planted it

I fixed the hoses and washed down the outdoor furniture

Anyone else do weekend projects?

Re: such a productive weekend

We've been our house 2 years, and it's finally starting to come together...

I put together a new entry hall table I bought at JCPenny Home (it's GORGEOUS, and RAVES to JCP Home!), I still have to hang the matching mirror over it..

took down one set of vertical blinds in our den and hung new curtains.. was a real pain because the vertical blind brackets were so hard to take out of the wood paneling

Hung a new curtain in the guest bath that we had renovated in October and still had a towel in the window! (Chat Icon ) hung new curtains in the bedroom and a valance in the Master bathroom, as well as one of our vintage opera prints over the bathtub

Installed the new shower hose that burst on me in the shower last week.

Our living room has been a storage area, so all that crap was moved up to the attic.

Re: such a productive weekend

We got a lot done this weekend (and today, DH worked most of the weekend so he's doing house stuff now).

We had new appliances delivered and I had to change the refridgerator door to open the right way. They finished the top of our new soffit over our new island. I put down weed killer on the walkway and patio and bought a few new plants for the front of the house. I also went to BJs and did our first big food shop (we haven't had a usable kitchen since we moved in on 4/30 and we finally do!)

Today, DH is installing the dishwasher and touching up trim.

Re: such a productive weekend

Friday I hit lowes after work and put 2 trays of flowers, 3 planters and two Cala Lillys.

I planted the flowers and the cala lillys in the planters for the front of the house.

Sunday I planted some flowers in the beds in front of the house, weeded the beds and put preen down

I still have a load of flowers left, so I am going to buy some planters for the deck and I also need to buy mulch for the flower beds in the front

Re: such a productive weekend

We had the tiling in the bathroom finished, the toilet put in, the vanity and sink fixtures installed. We shopped for a light fixture for the bathroom. Began cleaning out the garage and found termites on some of the cardboard! Chat Icon We had an exterminator come in as soon as we moved, in February but it seems that some stragglers lingered. Chat Icon Not a great ending to a good weekend. Chat Icon

Re: such a productive weekend

great progress helen!!! we want pics!

We didn't do much, I worked Saturday. We started working on the fence DH is building, but we started to get thunderstorms so we packed it up. Then Sunday I didn't feel like asking DH to do anything since it was Fathers Day. He mowed the lawn, I tinkered in the garden & we spent most of the day at the lake.
This Saturday I want to really get going on projects again.

ETS-LisaW post pics of your new plants!!!!
