Subchorionic bleed - 16 weeks
I went to the Dr on thursday for a routine prenatal visit when i went to give a urine sample and there was a gush of blood. Thank goodness it happened at the Dr, but I was given a sono right away and was told I have a subchorionic bleed that is about 2 1/2 inches long. It has stopped for now and I will get checked again this week, but I was told it most likely will come back and can take up to 2 months to heal. Anyone have any experience with this? The good news is is that the bleed is no where near the placenta which can cause an issue.

Re: Subchorionic bleed - 16 weeks
I did
If yopu search "subchorionic" on here you will find tons of other posters who had it as well ...I had no idea how common it was till I exerienced it !
I had a subchorionic hematoma when I was PG with my DD...as well as with DS #2
Lots of scary bleeding episodes but went on to have a very healthy 9lb13oz baby girl...and an 11 lb 8 oz baby boy!
I'm sure you have been told this , but I was on total pelvic rest ( no BD etc...) , no heavy lifting and don't over-do it walking, cleaning etc.....
SCH's are either reabsorbed back into the body or they "bleed out" which is what mine both did...They can see via sonogram the trail of blood working its way out.....
From what I was made to understand with the SCH, it is more of a matter of location of the bleed as to how dangerous it "could be" to the pregnancy..And for what its worth, they are very common and I have yet to hear of anyone losing a pregnancy due to one ..
Had a couple of scary ER trips that scared the death out of me . The first time I bled and they sent me home with "threatened miscarriage" ppwk...I later found out that anytime bleeding like that occurs it is considered this..Knowing why I was bleeding brought me comfort, and though I of-course panicked with each incident, I felt better knowing that bleeding did not mean the end...

I would inquire about blood thinners and if you would need something like Lovenox... or baby aspirin.
