Stupid Question: What constitutes a sentence?
So, what is considered a sentence? How many words strung together?
Christopher can say "Where's Mom?" "It's hot!" and things like that, basically 2, maybe 3 words together? Is that considered a sentence?
I'm dumb and too lazy to google.

Im assuming that he is using them more as phrases than sentences....
My rationale is this...
Do people ask him "where's mommy?" so he's repeating it..KWIM? and that you tell him "It's Hot"...
Caden says "what's this?" but he says it b/c we pick up stuff all the time and ask him "what's this"...Does that make sense?
Sentences are when they string separate words together...
"doggy go" "I want juice" "Mommy sit" "Christopher tired" etc...

No, he does it on his own. Like Chris went to get him this morning and he asked "where's mom?" and he said it's hot with a piece of pizza on friday. Just now he told my landlord "I don't know" when he asked him a question

wow! He's doing great at speaking! In my book that's fiull complete sentences.
Ayla is 16 months and says a handful of words but no where near sentences.

It's funny, I didn't think he said a lot of words, and he has just been popping out with this stuff, you know?

I learned through my DS's EI evaluation that stringing together 2 to 3 words by age 2 is appropriate.

Then in that case I will say YES it's sentences!!!!!! The twins were talking in full sentences by the time they were 18 months. "mommy, we go bye bye" so I will say there is no doubt that he's hit a sentence milestone...
It's amazing isnt it? I wasnt sure if Caden was talking or not before his birthday...he'd said stuff but he was inconsistant so I wasnt sure 100%. Then he hit a year old and now a month later....I cant even begin to count all the words he says. It's amazing isnt it??
All of a sudden those little neuron pathways come together and they start really talking!!!

It really is nuts! He said "I don't know" to my landlord and he looked at me and said "did he just say 'i don't know'?!?"
It's great and so fun!!

Welcome to "the language explosion" Kate. No turning back now
By 18 months, many little ones may begin to put 2 words together (Mommy go, want juice); by 2 it should be a consistently emerging skill. Sounds like Christopher is hitting this HUGE milestone a bit early.
