Stupid question about baby movement
I should have asked my midwife today but I was sort of stuck on possibly being transferred to a high risk Dr. (see my other post) so I didn't think of this until later.
She said that I should be feeling a pattern in the baby's movement now and if there is a change (not just no movement but a change in pattern) that I should call.
I know this is a stupid question but what am I feeling for in terms of pattern. Do they mean moving more certain times of the day or more movement after I eat or something?

Re: Stupid question about baby movement
My baby, especially around where you are now (29 weeks or so?), had some pretty predictable movement. She'd move a lot about 2 or 3 hours after breakfast, and lots when I was in bed trying to sleep. But she'd have plenty of "off" days, and it's nothing to be worried about.
My OB advised me to not worry about specific patterns or doing kick counts; just to notice that Baby is moving consistently.
He told me to think of the day divided into 4 parts: 8 AM - noon; noon - 4 PM; 4 PM - 8 PM; 8 PM - bedtime. Just notice that you feel the baby moving around at least a little during each period. If it's 4PM and you haven't felt the baby move since before noon, drink something cold and sweet, lie down, and wait. Call him if you don't feel anything within 2 hours of that.
I thought that was great advice and it kept me from worrying if I went a couple of hours without feeling her.
