stupid question
I just realized that my retrieval is most likely on Tuesday... election day.
Will I be in any shape to go vote? The deadline for filing an absentee ballot was 5pm today

That's really a tentative date, It's hard at this point to really pinpoint your ER date. But if it is, the polls are open until 8 or 9 I believe, you can always go later so you can spend the day resting, you should be able to go no problem.

Everyone is different. I didn't feel so great when I woke up, but it got better after I stayed resting for a while in the recovery room. I did stop w/ my mom and DH (my support team- lol) on the way home to eat lunch- only I had a few bites of soup and ended up going to lay in the car surrounded by pillows.... and tried to sleep until I got home.
It'll depend on how you're feeling. I've heard of some ppl going back to work the next day. I didn't, but I was caring for my grandma and made other arrangements for her - I took it easy and rested b/c my left side was absolutely killing me and didn't feel better until well after transfer. GL!!!

I drove from NYC to Poughkeepsie after my retrieval, broke down a conference table and then hung out in my hotel so my answer is yes

You should be fine...I was awake right after retrieval, calling pharmacies on the way home for meds and I was moving around a little - certainly enough to go to a voting booth and vote.
I went back to work the next day.
Besides, those are tentative dates. My retrieval was the day before my scheduled retrieval. I have learned over the years NOT to base anything on IVF, but be prepared to cancel anything.

I think you should definitely be fine. You will be sore, but you can do stuff. Like serious cramps. Honestly, I was a little worse pain-wise the next day. Just take it easy, that's all. Don't jog to the polls
