Stupid formula question
I am new to this formula thing so please forgive my dumb question!
I make DD bottles of formula with 6 oz of water, but it always comes out to 7 oz. Do I count this as a 7 oz bottle or 6oz? I warned you...

6 ounces. The powder formula adds volume but it's still six ounces.

7 ounces. We've discussed this with the ped. and the GI doctor. If you mix it ahead of time then pour it, you would be going by the measurement on the amount you pour.

7 ounces. We've discussed this with the ped. and the GI doctor. If you mix it ahead of time then pour it, you would be going by the measurement on the amount you pour.
The calorie and nutritional content would be that of a 6 ounce bottle though since that's the amount of formula/water you mixed for, so that wouldn't make sense

6 ounces. The formula (the actual powder) is what's most important, and you're putting in the amount that relates to 6 ounces of water...therefore, I counted it as 6 ounces.

If you used pre-mixed formula, would you only measure the content that is water? If so, how do you do that? If you measure any substance that is thicker than water, do you only use the water volume? Anyway, I'm not sure how it matters if you stay consistent with how you assess what your child is taking in.

OK.....
Every 2 ounces of water with one level scoop of powder will make 2.2 ounces of formula.
So 6 ounces of water with 3 level scoops of powder will make 6.6 ounces of formula.
So DD is eating 6 1/2+ oz bottles per feeding.

No...Kerie is right...although it isnt making a 7oz bottle it is making a 6.6oz bottle. See my post above for an explanation.
