Stupid butter question...
I want butter that tastes like the little foil butters you get in a bread basket...what kind of butter is that?

Re: Stupid butter question...
my favorite butter brands are Lurpak and Amul
Amul is an Indian brand, and has a nice sweet taste to it and Lurpak is Danish, it really tastes like freshly made butter. I love butter..

Sometimes I want some really good buttered bread and the butter I'm buying isn't giving me that.

Re: Stupid butter question...
I have made butter and it tastes sooooo good!!
Buy heavy cream and throw it in the blender for like 8 minutes till it turns into butter. Then take it out and drain out the butter milk with cheese cloth or a coffee filter. Then put the butter in a bowl and add salt to taste. Throw it in the fridge in an airtight container. Stays good for like 1-2 weeks.

I love Countrylife butter, and I believe you can get it at Trader Joes. Lurpak is okay, but it doesn't spread as well at Countrylife imo.

To me, Smart Balance tastes like what you're looking for.
I have also made me own butter and it tastes incredible when fresh. I have frozen it and defrosted and it loses that great taste.

I have let the boys make butter - but the super easy way.. we put heavy cream in an airtight container and shake, shake, shake!! They take turns on and off and it turns into butter. It's delicious.. but I've found that ours spoils fairly quickly.
