Stuffed Nose..

I've had a stuffed nose for the passed 3 months now and have been using Nose spray so that I can breathe. It's REALLY bad. I hate having to breathe through my mouth. I tried the Breathe Right strips and they didn't work. I don't want to continue using the spray..but what else can I do?

I was told the lining of your uterus is made of the same tissue as the lining in your nose, and just like your uterus swells to create a cushion for the baby..your nose can do the same thing. So ....I've come to the conclusion that my nose thinks it's pregnant... and is causing me to be addicted to nose spray. This happened to my cousin as well and she said it subsided once the baby was born...but I'm beginning to get nervous.

I'm just really worried that I'm doing my nose harm....anyone else suffering from this or have any remedies????

I have heard it is totally normal to have a stuffy nose and even bloody noses because of the membranes swelling and increased blood in the blood vessels. My doctor said saline nose spray is fine.

I know what you're talking about and it is a pain -- last night I had to get up twice in the middle of the night just to blow my nose.

o tell me about it....its getting worse towards the end...
i have a humidifier in my room at night, and central heat/air with a humidifier, and still feel stuffed up ....
hoping i can breathe normally again when baby comes out.

I can only imagine how it will be in the Summer. Is it bad that I am using Afrin or Sinex?

i have it every day. sometimes a little bloody as well. its all a part of pregnancy

Ummm I dont want to make you worried but when I thought I was getting a cold I asked my doctor if I could use nasal spray and he said only saline spray. Not even sure what it does. And as far as what the other poster mentioned, a humidifier works wonders too.

I'm going to go out today and get saline spray...because now I'm worried. I've been using this stuff religiously!! Now I'm scared....

Call your doctors office and check... that was just what mine said.

With my son my nose ran from 3 months on. The night I delivered my husband said wow you have not blown your nose in over an hour! It went away immediately for me.

I had this too - It's gotten a bit better now that I'm near the end - but for a number of weeks (I think it was mid 2nd trimester) my nose was so stuffed up that it hurt to even touch it - and it bled a lot.

I want to rip my nose off. Saline spray hasn't worked for me either. They found a sinus infection in mine and they tried a 'safe' antibiotic which didn't do anything. My doctor told me I will have the sinus infection through pregnancy.

I completely feel for you!!!

This is my life! I was up at 5 am this morning blowing my nose. I am so over the stuffiness!

It's HORRIBLE! I'm like this ALL day and cannot stand having to breathe through my mouth. If the saline spray doesn't work, I don't know what else to do for it.
