Anyone ever been there? What did you think? Would you go back?
Any feedback is great appreciated.

It's nice, but touristy.
We grabbed a boat (ferry maybe?) to St. Johns and that was even better.

Re: St.Thomas
We went to St Thomas a couple of months ago. It was very touristy but nice. The Town gets MOBBED with people from cruise ships because of the duty-free shopping.
Coki Beach and Magin's Bay are amazing beaches.
We didn't rent a car and taxis will cost you a small fortune.
We took the ferry over to St. John's for the day, and I personally liked that better - a lot more quiet, but I would go back to St. Thomas without hesitation.

St.Thomas
I have been there but would pick St John over St Thomas. St John is mostly park and is nicer and cleaner island. Not so busy with tourist and cruise ships.

Re: St.Thomas
We went to St John on our honeymoon and took a boat over to St Thomas one afternoon - it was too touristy for me and I was glad we were not staying there. I would prefer St john if that is an option for you.

Re: St.Thomas
We went to St. Thomas and loved it. We stayed at the Ritz which is not near the port where cruises come in soi I did not get a touristy feel at all. We were very close to the ferry to St. John so we went there too.

Re: St.Thomas
We just got back a few weeks ago. Stayed at the Ritz. I'm in love with that hotel, want to go back next year. It's amazing. Still dreaming about the pool there.
We had gone to St. John for our honeymoon, so we went back for a day to hit some of the beaches we had liked. The Ritz was a quick ride to Red Hook, which was a 15 minute ferry ride to St. John.
Went into Charlotte Amalie one day to look for jewelry. I'd been there before. No need to ever go back.
The restaurant at the Ritz was great, but the rest of the area was lacking good places to eat IMO. We found a few good places, but definitely no Aruba in terms of restaurants.
All in all a great trip.

St.Thomas
St. Thomas and St. John are heavenly to me. I go there on a mind vacation when I need to get away in all seriousness, it's a rather inexpensive direct non stop flight, they accept our cash and speak English.
The Marriott and Ritz Carlton are awesome on St. Thomas.
However, St. John is hands down one of my favorite places in the WORLD. The entire island is pristine, and is the largest national park by area in the US national parks system. The Westin there is out of control gorgeous, great service, and just all-around nice. Calm waters, great diving and snorkeling, and the most beautiful beaches.

Re: St.Thomas
DH and I have a timeshare on St. John (not to be confused with St. Johns, which is the capital of Antigua. We were corrected). It's a place we decided that we can go to every year and never get tired of. Clean, less touristy, and very laid back. Easy to hop to other islands in the BVI's as well. A little expensive, but this is what I work hard for every year to enjoy.
We fly into St. Thomas, hop a cab to Red Hook, then take the public ferry over to Cruz Bay St. John.

St.Thomas
We went to st. Thomas for part of our HM. Like pps said, it's touristy. I also felt like everyone at our hotel was from the Deep South ... Like Louisiana south. Not that there's anything wrong with that lol it was just different. It wouldn't be my first choice for a Caribbean vacation, but I wouldn't be opposed to going back. Like everyone is saying, def visit St. John while there.
