stroller rental at Disney
I've been convinced that I need to get a stroller for Disney even though my girls are 5 & 7. Should I rent a stroller directly from disney at the park or use one of the companies that rents the strollers and drops it off to you?

yup! we're using a stroller for our 3 and 6.5 year olds when we go in a few weeks. totally worth it to cut down on whining!!! HAHA I would use kingdom stroller or apple stroller. They rent City Minis or City mini GTs, which are SO much more comfortable for the kids, and easier for you to use, too. PLUS renting from Disney i'm pretty sure you would have to return it at the end of the day, which means carrying super tired kids out of the park and onto the buses. What we did was buy a used double City Mini on Craigslist. IT was about $120... and renting one for the week was gonna be about $80. so this way, we had it for when we went to the Bronx Zoo last week, plus we have it to resell and get our money back when we're done with it

Directly from disney are those hard plastic strollers. No basket storage. Also can't leave the parks.
Most people do kingdom strollers or the like. They have citi mini doubles, etc.

I've used Orlando strollers three times. No problems any of those times.

Sorry if this is a stupid question as I've never been. I'm thinking the ones at Disney probably aren't as comfortable but how do I deal with having a huge double stroller on a bus or monorail. Isn't that a huge pain getting the stroller on and off transportation?

Yes it's a HUGE pain, especially on the buses, and when they are crowded. The monorail you don't have to fold them up though.

Why not buy two cheapie singles? I'd imagine you can pay around $40-50 total for new and with Amazon.... get them delivered to your hotel. Then toss... or bring back.
You know your own kids... mine haven't needed a stroller at Disney or Bronx zoo from 4 & up... but they are big walkers and there were plenty of big kids at Disney in strollers.
Yes, it is a major PITA to take a stroller.

stroller rental at Disney
rent from a company. I have been to Disney a few times with a double stroller and I didn't think it was that much of a pain. It folds up pretty easy and my husband would just carry it on while I took the kids and bags. So many people have double strollers so everyone is doing the same thing.
I felt the double was easier than two singles

Completely agree. We brought our City Mini double because it's a much easier fold than our other double strolller. We considered renting from Kingdom (they tend to be most popular as far as the rental companies go), but we knew we needed to have a stroller in the airports, sows brought one with us instead of renting.
We did exactly the same as Aries. Once the bus arrived, I took the kids, and DH took the stroller. Everyone is pretty much in the same boat. Sure it's easier if you're jumping on the monorail, but it's 100% doable on the bus.
Definitely rent from a company, not Disney. Aside from the stroller comfort, you'd have to leave your Disney rental every time you leave a park. If you park hop, you'll have to get another stroller in the next park, and you'd have to wait for busses without a stroller. Some of the waits, especially around park closing, can be lengthy.

I recommend bringing a stroller, rather than renting. If you rent, you don't have it in the airport which can be huge, you can keep the stroller until you get on the plane and then gate check it.
First time we went to disney with our first, we bought a graco single stroller on craigslist for $40. believe it or not, we liked it better than our regular stroller.
Second time with kid # 2, we had a 6 month old and 5 year old, we used a Joovy sit and stand. that worked OK, was a pain to fold, but covered most bases, and I thought was easier than a proper double.

Her kids probably wouldn't need one for the airport at their ages. My girls are the same ages and I wouldn't be lugging a double around the airports for them. When you rent it will be ready and waiting for you at your hotel! So easy!
