Stride Rite Shoes Question

I have to get my DS shoes for the winter. He has been walking for 2 months now. He had summer sandals from Stride Rite and I love them b/c they are SO easy to get on and off. I got them really cheap though because I got them in the middle of the summer.

What are the benefits of paying $50 for winter shoes? We dont really go many places in the winter so its not like he is going to be walking around outside in them that often, if at all. We are also never outside in the winter so I am not too concerned about cold feet!

I have bought him some really cheap shoes before he could walk but I could never get them on his feet or they would fall off.

Can you please recommend your DS's winter shoes?

Thanks

Re: Stride Rite Shoes Question

I love stride rite shoes but not at $50. Please check out their outlets they are $15-30 there.

Btw I was with a friend the other day and she returned a pair to the store. I was suprised that the stride rite store in roosevelt field was selling the identical pairs of shoes (also had geoxx) for $10-15 MORE than Nordstroms was selling the same pairs for. You can also find stride rite shoes sometimes at nordstroms rack for abot $25.

I typically wait until they have the 25% off coupons, go to their outlet stores or I check out Nordstroms to see what they have on sale. Last summer, I bought DS a pair of Stride Rite sneakers for $25 at Nordstroms and Stride Rite had it full price.

Ditto to the outlets. I never pay $50 for DS' shoes and typically that is all he wears. Most of the time I can score them for $19.99 and then buy one get one 50% off.

Never pay full price. Outlet is the only way to go.

Definitely go to outlet or even look in store and then order online. Piperlime has good coupons usually.

Our DD never can wear cheap ones from Target, etc. bc she needs more arch support. I have found some good deals on Nike's and Adidas at Kohl's on sale/with coupon and they are great!

same here! All of my dd shoes are from stride rite simply because they fit good but I only buy at the outlet. I'd never pay full price!

Re: Stride Rite Shoes Question

The only reason I still go to stirde rite, is both my ds's have wide feet, One is XW and the outlet literally never has their sizes in what I want, so I just go to the store near me. I think once I lucked out, and the outlet had them.

Also, if you google coupons, they have great deals, and I just bought both ds shoes for 25%off, at the regular store.

Yup, Stride Rite outlet. I get DS's shoes there for btw $20-30, and usually they have a bogo half off or some other promotion. So I get his current size and then the next size up for the future.

Re: Stride Rite Shoes Question

My DS had XW feet and Stride Rite was the only store I could find his size. I always waited for a sale or they mailed me a coupon/flyer.

His first pair of winter shoes (he started walking around October) lasted him all winter, since he wasn't outside all that much.

He wore these, and they were so easy to get on and off. Plus, he's a boy, so they pretty much matched everything he wore. Chat Icon

DS is 3 and is still a Wide width. I get him measured at the real Stride Rite store, and maybe buy a pair of shoes there if they have the size/style that I like and if there is a sale. Then I head to the outlet and see what the selection is there. I'm usually limited. But again, since he's a boy, he doesn't need 8 different pairs of shoes to match his outfits.
