OH i'm a dope I didnt read the post right, (sleepy eyes) I thought u meant to bring it to work! 
I do this all the time, but if you have a fairly new one, bought in the last 5 years or so I might auto-shut off after being on for an hour.
Nothing bad hopefully will happen! crossing fingers..
my curling iron doesnt auto shut off, and the worst its done is changed the color of my rug...i have done this several times, for up to 12hrs at a time
so i have marks of green on my grey rug!

oh no!! i would be freaking out,too!
any way you could have a neighbor go in and check, and unplug it if its plugged in? or run home at lunch to check?
i would think that as long as its not touching any paper or anything, it should be ok.

I left my iron on all day while I was at work once. It was not touching anything so everythign was ok.
Do you remember where you left it?
If it was on the counter or something it should be fine.

I always feel like that but whenever I go back to check it is turned off! I think its such a part of my routine I forgot actually unplugging it. As long as its on a counter or something like that it should be fine even if it is left on.

Well girls its on my vanity in my bathroom, not around anything else so I think it'll be fine & usually I find out it was turned off, but I just hate this feeling. Thanks...

you should be fine... but I understand how you feel.
I have driven 1/2 hour to my house when I had feelings like that. I just can't relax.

I was goign to say that alot of them turn off automatically if they are left on too long.
If it makes you feel better I was baking cookies yesterday and forgot to turn the stove off after I took the cookies out. And I left the stove on for over 4 hours without realizing. I wasn't even home either

I left my space heaters on one time and didn't even realize....it was like a sauna when I got home lol
I also thought I left my straightening iron on once and drove 1/2 home to check, and it was off....you might have subconsciously turned it off this morning...
