Stressed at work...
This job has me so STRESSED!! I went from working for a Non-Profit hospital for over 10 years to Corporate America...and this has to be the BIGGEST mistake I've ever made!!! Ever since I started here...I've been stressed..and I'm wondering if I tell my doctor if he would put me on leave earlier. Not right now..but maybe end of May or June?? What do you think???

Re: Stressed at work...
I don't know...is it affecting you physically in any way?
I hate stress. Heres a little TMI but I know the stress I have from work makes me totally constipated... haha...when I was home on bedrest I actually was on a "regular" schedule, going every day, even being pg, and now I'm back to work and I'm all backed up again!! Its bad for our health and we shouldn't have to put up with it!!!

My job is very stressful as well, and it took until I was 36 weeks and starting to dilate before my doctor advised me to stay home. In fact, I am taking my time from work, she isn't even putting me on disabilty.
I'd work as long as possible, unless money is no object.

Re: Stressed at work...
Your dr. is very unlikely to put you on disability over the stress of a job unless there was a severe sign of danger to the baby and you. You are likely better off trying your hardest to not let it get to you if you can.
Sorry it's stressful.

Re: Stressed at work...
Well..I just came back from seeing my doctor and I was explaining to him how I wanted to look into taking leave early..(July). I'm due in August and that's only 4 weeks before..so it won't be a problem. THANK GOD!! I know with my son my doctor actually put me on leave a month before because I got so big and it was uncomfortable. I'm glad that's settled..because honestly I cannot see myself waking up at 5:30am, leaving by 6:30am to take a bus and train to work and deal with the people of Times Square.. and the NYC Transit system..NO WAY!!!!
I love my doctor!!!

Re: Stressed at work...
I am 35 weeks and spoke with my doctor yesterday about putting me on leave early...like by the end of next week
I explained to her that I am very tired now, I have swollen ankles, and have a very long commute to and from work every day. I am a CPS trainer and the stress of preparing my material everyday in preparation to teach a class is becoming too much for me to bear. I explained to her that I would like to relax and prepare my mind, body and soul for my baby during my last 2-3 weeks than to be worried about preparing my powerpoints for my next training presentation.
So she said next week she would give me a letter approving me to remain at home after next week Ahhh I just cant wait....
THen I can concentrate on decorating the nursery and just relaxing before the baby comes.
