Strawberries/oranges
At what age did you give your DC strawberries or oranges? My DD is 10 months and she has had strawberry yogurt but not actual strawberries. Also I thought I heard no citrus fruits until 12 months but don't know who told me that. TIA

Strawberries/oranges
My PED said at DS's 9 month appt that he can have everything now except nuts, shellfish, and honey unless there is a family allergy. I haven't tried strawberries or oranges yet but I plan to try strawberries soon. I think it depends on your Dr's opinion.

Strawberries/oranges
he eats them all the time. probably started around 10 months or so.
He had strawberries in purees so I wasn't concerned about a reaction.

Re: Strawberries/oranges
If she isn't reacting to them in the yogurt she is probably fine with Strawberries. I waited on Oranges only because I felt they were acid and she was a reflux baby until almost 1 year old. After her reflux resolved I gave them.

Re: Strawberries/oranges
I waited until after 1 yr to give DS raw strawberry. Citrus I didn't introduce until 17 mos and he wasn't a fan. I was cautious with introducing foods that had higher chance of causing allergies.
ETA: Cooked strawberries are different from raw. Younger babies can have cooked strawberries (or strawberries in commercial babyfood which have been heated) but they recommend waiting on raw. My mom is allergic to raw strawberries but if she cooks them she's fine.

Re: Strawberries/oranges
Well when my older DD was a baby I was told to hold off. But in the 5 years they have chznged the recommendations. Both my ped and their allergist says now the younger you try the food the less likely they will have a reaction. Under one and earlier the better. I would speak with your ped if you are worried.
Someone mentioned cooked versus raw...some will react to both but cooking changes the proteins so some people can eat cooked eggs, or milk baked into things or cooked veggies but can not have a glass of milk, or raw veggie.

Strawberries/oranges
no one told me I couldnt give her strawberries so between 6-9m she had them. *shrug* Oranges took longer because they are messy and the 'skin' of the slices scared me LOL
