Strange bath question

I'm having a hard time rinsing out DD's hair after her shampoos -- when she was laying down during her baths there was no problem at all, but now that she sits up it seems impossible to rinse her hair without dumping the water straight over her head. I tried doing it slowly & making a game out of it, but I got too scared when she started wincing. She won't sit back or tilt her head up, even when I try coaxing her.

There's got to be a better way -- how do you all do it?

I used to tip them back & say "Look at mommy!" or "Look at the ceiling!". Someone posted a cup with a rubber seal from One Step Ahead that they said worked. I'll try to find the link.

I would just cup the front of my kids' head so it wouldn't get in their eyes and rinse it out with a few cups full of water or until it all got out.. We also had a detachable nozzle in their bathrooms so it made it easier to get it out.

Re: Strange bath question

I cover the front of my dd head like as if I am shielding her eyes from the sun and as the I pour the water I run my hand from front to back to get the soap out. at first she didn't like it but she got use to it and she would wince when water would get into her face but she is so use to it that she will take a cup of water and pour it over her own head . THere is a visor in one step ahead

Re: Strange bath question

You should definitely buy a detachable shower head. They are great. I bought one at TJ Maxx for like 12 bucks

Re: Strange bath question

My mom used to recline us a bit and rinse our heads under the running faucet in the tub. That gave enough pressure to get the shampoo out quickly.
