Storing shoes

I have been trying to figure out what to do with DH's size 12 shoes besides him putting them under the bed which I HATE! We have a spare closet he can store them in but telling him to put them in there would just hide the mess in a closet which doesn't solve the mess problem. I would like it to be organized but all the shoe storage products I have seen don't fit size 12 shoes. Chat Icon Or worse only 6 pairs of shoes fit in them.

Does anyone have any ideas? I am getting tired of kicking his shoes further under the bed b/c he always leaves them peeking out. Chat Icon

Re: Storing shoes

Believe it or not, those desktop storage cabinets (the ones with multiple shelves preferably made of some type of wood) actually fit a decent amount of shoes. (my DH wears 13s and I wear 11s) I have one in the bottom corner of our closet for him and another for me. No one can really tell that they belong on a desk and they don't have just those square openings, they have longer, rectangular shelves, usually with adjustable pegs to raise or lower the shelves to fit even bigger shoes like boots. I know it sounds weird, but I hope this helps!Chat Icon

Re: Storing shoes

I recently bought a hanging sweater bag from Container Store to use for shoe storage and it has worked out perfectly. I can store 3 pairs of shoes per compartment and DH (who has pretty big feet) can store one pair per compartment. They don't take up too much room and they aren't expensive either. Definitely try it out Chat Icon

Thanks for the ideas girls. I think the shelves thing may actually work.

My DH is 12 also. We did a closet organizer with adjustable shelves and we put his shoes there.
