storing potatoes?
How do you store whole, uncooked potatoes? Do they belong in the fridge or on the countertop? I never know what to do with them. TIA

I put them in the large drawer under my island. Away from onions. They usually last 2 weeks or so. And even then they don't go bad.. just grow eyes which i carve out before cooking.
In the summer I store them in the basement where it is cooler.

I put them in the cabinet - they like the dark.
I avoid the fridge because the moisture makes them go bad quicker.
DO NOT FORGET about them in your cabinet....Let's just say we had an incident....
had to leave the cabinets open for a month to air it out. Nasty!!!!
