Store Mistake
So I was in a store and the guy didnt ring up my shirt...Wasnt 100% sure, but thought he probably didnt, and Then checked the receipt afterwards and nope he didnt.
WHO would go back and say something if you hadnt noticed till after?
AND is this any different then if they gave you an Extra $20 back when handing you you your change?

I say that being preggo and on bedrest, you don't have to go back. It's not like you hid it from him.

Re: Store Mistake
I say no. If you had noticed right away, I'd say yes, but it's their mistake. It's not going to come out of his paycheck, you know?
Plus, think about how many times we're overcharged for things by stores.
ETA: Like some other people mentioned, if they gave me too much $ back and I realized before I left the store, I would point it out to them (and have done it before, actually), since I know they'd be accountable for it.

Re: Store Mistake
no, I would not. My Mom would probably not like my answer - but that's their mistake! you brought it up with the intention of paying.

Re: Store Mistake
hmmmm.........
I would not go back if i got the shirt for free . Things like this just don't happen to me. To be completely honest- i would not go back. I know it's wrong but hey no one is perfect.
On the otherhand I would totally bring it to the cashier's attention if I got too much change. I know at the end of the day if the cashier is short it is a problem and could cost them their job.

I wouldn't go back if I had already left the store.

Re: Store Mistake
if I was given too much change- I would give it back
but once bloomies forgot to charge me for 1 pair of pants- and I didn't realize until I got home- I kept them- I figured I spent enough $$$ in that store

Re: Store Mistake
I say no! The same thing happened to me in the supermarket! I bought $40 conditioner, and somehow, the cashier never rang it up! I didn't go back!

Re: Store Mistake
If I made it all the way home...no way would I go back!!
And I agree that this is different from the cashier giving you too much change. But if I didn't realize right away that I was given too much change, I'd never realize it. If it was on the spot I wouldn't keep it.

Re: Store Mistake
not if I already was home. Maybe if I was still in the store. The change thing is different in that a persons drawer is checked every day and they can get in trouble for not having the right amount of money there. Who is going to know who let you walk out with a free shirt though?

I agree, but I love when people say its the principle of returnign the $20, and not just that the cashier will get in trouble, that they say its stealing.
I didnt feel like I was stealing my shirt.
