Stonybrook OB/GYN or Three Village...Any Info?

I've gotten some feedback from this site about both places, was thinking of using one of these, now I am looking into it some more.

Anyone use them?

Which Dr's do you like best?

Looking for someone thorough, hopefully VBAC friendly, good bedside manner a plus.

I think I noticed though, at least with one of the places, that even though you are assigned a Dr, you don't regularly see just one?

At my current practice, we get to see the partners one time each during the pregnancy just in case they deliver us, but all other scheduled visits are with the one Dr.

I actually just switched from Three Village to Stonybrook bc Dr. Porte delivered my DS (He was Dr. on call. They cover each others practices) so I liked him so much I wanted him to do this c-section too.
I really liked everyone at Three Village though, esp Dr. Schoenfeld. He was great very informative and easy to talk to. All drs. had good bedside manner and took their time during office visits. Did not rush the visit which was comforting to me during pregnancy.
I have not gone to Stonybrook yet (I go 12/23 for 1st app) so I can't say anything about any of other Drs. but Three Village was great. I think I just wanted the same Dr. for this c-section for some strange reason....can't figure out why.

I go to Three Village. Dr. Schoenfeld was "my" doctor but I actually only saw him 2-3 times during the pregnancy. I like most of the doctors there but I actually prefer seeing the NPs! Dr. Droesch is my least favorite. He knew I was a VBAC candidate and wanted to schedule me for a c-section at 39 weeks Then said he was willing to "allow" me to go to 40 weeks. I said...um, no. Babies are not always on time. Dr. Schoenfeld was in total agreement with me since I never went into labor with my first. I had a c-section scheduled for 3/16 and actually went into labor on 3/15 and got my VBAC! I was 41 weeks 2 days

The one thing I would recommend is make ALL of your appointments ahead of time. They book up fast!

I go to StonyBrook gyn/ob. I love Dr. Porte and Dr. Lochner. Also Dr. Okeefe is great too- but always seems like he's in a rush. Those are the doctors i would recommend there. You can have your appointments with just one dr, or you can go see all of them. Towards the end of your pregnancy they would like you to meet all of the practitioners so you get comfortable with them. I also have to say the office staff is wonderful, everyone from the front desk to the nurses really are great. I've delt with them a lot in the last 2 years and i have nothing but good things to say about them. If you have any questions feel free to FM me!

I just switched to this practice after receiving a couple of recommendations on here. Also, my mom did her research as well & was told this is an excellent practice.

Stonybrook's NICU unit is what ultimately sold me god forbid anything happens.

Headoverheals - Thank you! I fm'd you a while back about the vbac and so far Dr. S is the only one I've heard of actually doing a vbac (yours). So, I'm nervous he won't be the one delivering and getting stuck with one of the anti-vbac Dr's.

I'd try the midwives, but nervous about that too, don't know why.

I've never felt so paralized about making a decision - I feel like so much depends on who I go with

I have no experience with vbac but I do see the stonybrook midwives if you have any questions. I read that you were nervous about trying them.
