Stomach Bug while pregnant?
Has anyone had a stomach virus or food poisoning while pregnant? I'm newly pregnant, a little over 5 weeks, and I've had extreme diarrhea since wed morning. I believe its from the food we ate on Tues night (fast food chain). I threw up wed morning and then have had extreme(water) diarrhea on and off since then. I thought I was in the clear yesterday but it started up again last night around 5pm and I still have it this morning. I've been drinking lots of water, Gatorade, and apple juice and eating plain foods like toast and crackers. I'm just concerned about the baby? Can this virus effect the baby at all? I'm very early on so I'm very nervous. Any insight would be much appreciated! Thanks!

I had a horrible stomach virus at 27 weeks. Everything was fine with the baby. I just tried to stay hydrated by taking small sips of water every 15 minutes. You're so early. I wouldn't be concerned. Just try to stay hydrated. Feel better soon!

Stomach Bug while pregnant?
Yes, I had a stomach virus at about 11 weeks. It doesn't affect the baby at all. You just need to make sure you're hydrated.

Stomach Bug while pregnant?
i didnt have a bug but off & on stomach issues-- the only thing that helped that i could take was gatorade

I'm right there with you at 20 weeks! Woke up in the middle of the night new years eve with vomiting/diarrhea and have had horrible body aches since then. Called the OB today as I can't move off the couch and they basically said to do just what you are doing. Focus on hydration. Baby will be fine because they will take what they need from you. If you have a fever over 102 you may want to call them. Tylenol is ok for low grade fever/body pain. Hope we feel better soon. not a good way to ring in the newyear

I had it at 17 weeks. The only concern is dehydration bc that can affect the baby so try and hydrate as well as you can and it it continues for longer you may have to get an IV. You are still very early and the baby should be well protected in there. Just take care of your body. Unfortunately its everywhere right now! I can't believe how many people were sick for christmas and New Years!

That's what I was thinking, too. A stomach virus typically lasts 12-24 hours.

oh wow, originally that's what I thought too when I threw up on wed. but the severe faucet diarrhea has me thinking otherwise. there is a terrible stomach virus going around and a friend that was at my house last Saturday also was sick this week. who knows. I never had ms with my dd so I have no idea what it would be like. but this is just not normal. I have a doc apt on mon so hopefully all will be well

Stomach Bug while pregnant?
I hate to tell you, my miscarriages were all that way, 1-3 days of diarrhea with my period coming just after it stopped. No throwing up though, so hopefully it's the start of MS like others said.
I had food poisoning or a stomach bug last week at 26 weeks. DD is fine.

Stomach Bug while pregnant?
I had a bad one with Dr early on and dr said keep taking Gatorade for electrolyte. I also used juice ice pops.

I had it a few weeks ago at 7 weeks. Just do the best you can, it will be ok!
I drank lots of gatorade once I could stomach it.

My MS was both ends. A stomach bug is usually 24 hrs
