stomach bug toddler ?
My 3.5 year old woke up in the middle of the night last night throwing up. She was up the whole night throwing up what looked like phelgm. This morning and all day she was in great spirits. She didnt throw up. She had diarrhea twice. She drank water and pedialyte. She ate toast, crackers and plain pastina. She had a low grade fever which i gave tylenol as per dr. She would tell me here and there that her stomach hurt. By 5 pm she was complaining more that her belly hurt. She said she didnt need to throw up or go #2. By 7 she puked everything she had all day. I mean all of it. I waited 30-45 min she said she was hungry again. I gave her plain toast. About 1.5 hours later she puked all over her bed. And her temp is raised. 99.5
Is this typical stomach bug? To only throw up at night. And she has this phelgmy cough. Not bad but didnt have it before. She looks so tired and just so sad tonight. I feel sooo bad for her.
Anything else i can do for her?

Sounds like the bug my DS had. You have to let it run its course and I wouldn't give the Tylenol either. Her temp is probably raised bc she's throwing up and it's not that high - it will most likely go down on its own. The Tylenol might be making her tummy hurt more since it's empty to begin with.
My DS threw up all night, was fine the whole next day, puked the day after and complained his belly hurt for a few nights after as well.

My dd did the same thing in February! I starting getting nervous something was really wrong with her. She even skipped a whole night and then threw up the following night. The whole thing lasted like 4 days but for the most part she was fine.

yup we had it a few weeks. Poor dd threw up for a whole day then a few times the following day. My dh kept making her drink when i told him to stop lol b/c she kept throwing up anything she had. She had pains too. It took until Sunday to stop throwing up and eat and a few days after to feel completely normal. She was lethargic for a few days.
Just let her rest.

stomach bug toddler ?
This happened to my son this month as well (he just turned 4 last week).
He happened to get three stomach bugs in a 9 day span (based on the timing of 1 and 2 and blood tests done between 2 and 3 we were able to confirm this. He continued to throw up every other night for a week afterwards and not eat the next day. He lost over 10% of his body weight.
We took him for a ton of tests and the Dr thinks it was just gastritis - sometimes after a stomach bug (or bugs) the stomach lining gets irritated so this happens. We were told to give him 1/2 of a Pepcid chewable to help reduce the irritation of his stomach lining and we gave him Zofran just at night for a few nights and it seemed to have worked.

stomach bug toddler ?
Yea im wondering if i should bring her in because shes soooo lethargic and not herself. She told me walking down the stairs hurt her. She doesnt want to sit up just wants to lay down. She is never like this ever. This is the sickest ive ever seen her. Shes kept down 2 pieces of toast so far. And has drank a ton of water and pedialyte. But im just concerned that she doesnt want to move at all. I know shes just weak from all the puking and diarrhea. And not really eating much. Im a worry wart by nature but i think i may bring her in. I already called dr. Waiting to hear back.

Definitely call the ped and see what they say. It sounds like she is hydrated which is the most important part. My son was lethargic too - we took him to the ER because he also wasn't drinking anything.
There were some pretty nasty viruses - my son was out of daycare for one day shy of three weeks with the last two viruses. My husband and I got the last one with him and it was horrible!

Re: stomach bug toddler ?
My dd has a terrible stomach bug 3 weeks ago. It was 3 whole days of throwing up. It was awful. Just offer small amounts of liquid like a pedilite if your child will drink it and food like crackers or toast but very small amounts.

Re: stomach bug toddler ?
Yes, typical for my kids. Last year, DD 1 had a virus where she got sick nightly for 10 days. DD2 is just getting over a virus that lasted about a week, and she'd even occasionally skip a night of throwing up, just to really throw you off, lol. They both acted fine all day, after the initial 24 hours. Dr had said it wasn't all that uncommon in kids. Hope she feels better soon!
ETA: keep up with the bland diet, in small quantities, but also wanted to add that my ped had stressed NO dairy until you're sure she's all better. Good luck!

Re: stomach bug toddler ?
After a stomach virus, it can take a few days for the stomach to go back to normal. When DS had a bug a few months ago, we kept foods light for about a week.
