Re: Stokke Sleepi Crib System
Love them, I have seen them at our local fancy schmancy baby store. They are gorgeous, but imo lots of money. Really beautiful though...and you are limited to the bedding...

Re: Stokke Sleepi Crib System
I looked it up in my Baby Bargins book. It runs $700-800 and requires special bedding. The bedding sets run $250-350. They gave it a rating of B-.

Re: Stokke Sleepi Crib System
I saw them at BBB a few months back. I really wanted this, but once I saw it to did not feel very sturdy to me. It could have just been a very abused floor model though. I think it was $699 for the bassinette.

Actually now that I think about it, I remember seeing the "round" crib in BBB and changing table. Yes, it did not look sturdy (I do my own "shake" test for all cribs.. ). Maybe because it was the floor model or they did not tighten the screws enough.

DH does the shake test too....he says if he can shake it loose, so can a 10 month old.

Re: Stokke Sleepi Crib System
I think lots and lots of people shake the floor models, hence why they always look so grubby and the screws are always loose. They actually are really good, highly suggested cribs. They are in all the fancy baby magazines

Re: Stokke Sleepi Crib System
We decided against the Stokke because it has so many JOINTS! You keep adding more rails to it to make it larger and by the time its in the crib size there are like 6 joints! We did not feel comfortable with so many places that little fingers can get stuck.
Concept-wise, aesthetically and space-saving wise it is great. But we did not feel comfortable with the joints. I saw it in at least 4 stores (we live in Brooklyn and work in Manhattan) and NONE of the floor models had joints that aligned properly.
We wound up buying the Netto Cub crib from Giggle in Soho.
