Re: Stitches or staples?
Not sure which one is better to have, but I did have stitches with steri-strips and had a wonderful recovery and no issues with my incision. You don't even see it nearly 4 years later!

Re: Stitches or staples?
I had staples, they were weird to see, but didn't hurt at all when the dr took them out a week later.

Re: Stitches or staples?
Honestly, I have had both and I could NOT stand having the staples Maybe they weren't put in the best, but they pinched and were uncomfy. Although they did not hurt at all to take out and I have little to no scar now

Re: Stitches or staples?
I had a c-section and had disolving stitches. They were great and no maintenance.

Re: Stitches or staples?
My first c/s was the staples and I hated, hated, hated having them out! The area (for me at least) was still so sore I cried out for each one that was removed. With my second c/s I opted for the dissolvable stitches. The surgery took a little bit longer but well worth it to me!
If I ever need to have another c/s I am going with the stitches again

Re: Stitches or staples?
I had both. The staples were a little annoying when you would try and move but they came out fast. I honestly think having both is the reason you can barely even see my scar.

Same here...you barely even feel a pinch. It's like nothing!

I had staples and was dreading having them taken out but it didn't hurt at all. They actually took them out before I left the hospital.

Re: Stitches or staples?
I had staples. They were taken out the morning I left the hospital to go home, and it didn't hurt that bad at all.... and my scar is fine.. healed nicely.

It really wasn't that bad, it was a tiny little pinch for each staple, your still so numb in that area that you don't really feel it. If I had to get them again it wouldn't bother me.

I had a c-section, and I honestly have no idea what I had. I didn't have anything removed, they just disolved.
My scar is soo low and soo small, you can hardly even see it.

Re: Stitches or staples?
I had no stitches or staples. I had surgi glue and surgi strips and my scar is almost invisible 20 months later. I had a great recovery and it was nice to go back and not need anything taken out. I had the on-call dr deliver DD and am worried that my regular ob will do staples with my next pg. I just had such a good experience with the other.

Re: Stitches or staples?
I had stitches with the strip and did not heal well. my incision scar is raised and noticeable. Dr. said my body didn't react well to it. Next time they'll go through the same incision, fix it, and use staples.
