Re: Stepping Stone children's museum
It's very cute & worth a visit.
Like a smaller please touch... It has a set up for all age groups & I think the best thing they have is a water room, where kids wear plastic smocks and play with water & balls. I'd say best age is 2-5.
Only negative is my very oral kid would get sick after every visit (can't really blame museum for that), but after a few colds, we stopped going.

we love it. It's a great museum to spedn the day. You can eat there or bring your own food.
There is a water area so either bring a bathing suit or a change of clothes. They give smocks but sometimes they are all wet to start or the kids still get wet, but it is such a fun area to play in.
They have a ton to do.

Oh awesome thanks. I have my nephews birthday party in Stamford but it's at 4-530 so was thinking we'd just drive up earlier and go to the museum. Will def bring a full change of clothes for dd.

It's great for young kids. Both my kids got sick after going there though. I definitely prefer the aquarium which is right down the block.

Love it there!! We usually go on a Saturday and make a day of it. Stepping Stones in the morning, restaurant for lunch, and then the aquarium in the afternoon. We usually get to Norwalk around 9:30 and are heading home by 5. Long day but worth it, the kids always have the greatest time.

Re: Stepping Stone children's museum
We went last summer and I'll be honest-- I was expecting better, though probably bc I knew someone who was a member and went often and she RAVED about it, so I had very high expectations. It was cute- not worth the trip to do just that and I don't have intentions on going back unless it's purely on the way to something else. It's far for how "meh" it was in my opinion. I'd much rather go to Please Touch Museum in PA!!!

Re: Stepping Stone children's museum
We like it. It's probably best for the 5 and under crowd although my 7 year old still enjoys it. We either go there or to the Maritime Aquarium when we meet up with my parents for the day because Norwalk is about halfway between where we live. We go to the Burger Bar most of the time for a quick dinner afterwards, but there are other good restaurants in the area too. We really like Valencia Luncheria, but it gets crowded pretty quickly. Lime has a really good dinner, but it's super small and is not as good for picky eaters.
