State Farm checking up on your car mileage?

I'm due for renewal on my auto policy and checked to see what they have listed as my "usage" and mileage per year. I submitted a change because it's about 2,000 miles higher than it should be. We really don't go that far.

I just got an email from someone at the brokerage asking me to give them my odometer reading. I'm assuming this is so they can check up at the next renewal to make sure I'm telling the truth?

Has anyone had them ask for this if they made a usage change? I didn't exaggerate so it's no big deal to give them the number and it will be right if they check up again. I just never had them ask that before.

Yes i've gotten letters like that. depending on how many miles you drive yearly effects what they charge you.

I have USAA and when I changed our yearly mileage on one of the cars from 12k to 15k because DH was going to be driving a lot for work, it changed my premium by 4 cents! And no one called...
