Star Question
I appled in February (before the March 1st Deadline)
the previous owners didnt have star,
so will my rebate kick in for 2007 or do I have to wait until 2008??
(i tried calling the town, but no one picks up the phone )

Since you applied before the deadline, I'm assumming it will kick in for 2007. I don't think the fact that the previous owner did not have this, will have any effect on yours.

Yup this is what I was told also, we are lucky though because the owner we bought the house from did have star so we get to carry her star for 2007. But if you filed this year it was the application for 2008.

If your Star application was approved )we don't know yet, either) it will be reflected in your Dec '07 tax bill for Jan. '08.

Can you file anytime? Our previous owners didnt have STAR and we just moved in a couple months ago. Should i file now..for 2008 or wait until the end of the year?

You can file at any time during the year. It will be for the next year though- so if you file for now its for the 2009 tax year, since the deadline for 2008 has already passed.

i dont think they tell you unless you are declined- i'll try to call the town, but they never answer!

I was sent a postcard that said I was approved for the 08 tax year. Thank goodness the previous owners had star
