How much did your taxes get lowered (Nassau County)when your applied? TIA

The amount of the basic STAR exemption varies by school district. Every homeowner within the same school district gets the same STAR exemption amount, regardless of the size of the home, where it's located, how much you pay in taxes, etc.
I've seen it vary from approx $1100/year to over $1600/year (in Levittown SD). Plainedge SD is also high (over $1500/year). In N. Bellmore, where my home is located, it's approx $1350.
You can look up the basic STAR amount for any particular school district by checking on www.mynassauproperty.com, or you could call the Nassau County Assessor's office.
Keep in mind that new school taxes come out in Nassau on Oct. 1, which will also change the amount of the STAR exemption.
