I have a Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer that I absolutely love. There are very few tasks that I use my handmixer for.

My Mom hasn't had a stand mixer in years. She got one 37 years ago (it was a sunbeam) at her bridal shower, it broke 10 years ago, and she never replaced it.

She does love to bake, and so knowing how easy my mixer has made my life, I'd love to get her a stand mixer for Christmas.

However, I don't think we can afford a Kitchen Aid right now. The basic one is on sale for $249 at Kohl's, and I do have a 20% off coupon, but I really don't know if I can swing that.

Is it even worth it to buy her another brand mixer? Like a Sunbeam or Cuisinart? Or should I just think of something else to get her (I have no idea what!) and wait until maybe Mother's Day when all the siblings chip in for a bigger gift for her?
