St. Maarten
Thinking about going here but not sure which side of the island to stay on, French vs Dutch. Has anyone ever been? Any hotel recs? Do you need a car? How were the beaches and restaurants? I would love to hear any reviews. Thanks

Re: St. Maarten
we stayed on the dutch/ french border but on the dutch side in a group of villas called coral beach club (cbc.)
CBC is on dawn beach and is surrounded by a few dining options right there. - one of them is my favorite restaurants on the island- Big Fish.
We go every year, stay at CBC every year and we always rent a car (cabs are $$.)
There are great grocery stores so we stock the villa with food, snacks and drinks, and we go out for dinners.
there are restaurants all over the island- and many excellent ones.
the french side has more fancy restaurants that are world-renowned. however most of then only accept Euros which can be very pricey, on top of their very expensive menu prices.
the dutch used to be not as great, but its really up and coming and there are now many affordable and upscale choices.
FM me if you have nay questions.
