st lucia
my best friend is getting married the end of october she wants to go to st lucia for her honeymoon oct 30th -nov 6th she is getting mixed views on whether that is a good idea because of the risk of hurricane and bad weather ....so has anyone traveled to there around that time or have any advice TIA

If I'm remembering correctly, St Lucia is under the hurricane belt. It might be rainy, but I'm pretty sure they don't often get hurricanes.
It's my favorite island, I'd highly recommend it.

when i researched it, i read that hurricanes are rare in st lucia
i was there mid july and it rained for 15 minutes everyday and the rest of the time it was glorious

we went in Early october last year and it rained several times per day. But when it wasn't raining - it was heaven!

We went 10/15 last year and the weather was gorgeous! 85 to 90 every day. I think we had a shower of rain during breakfast one day and that was all.
They did get hit by a hurricane last year right after we were there but they had not had any hurricane activity for 26 years before that. I would definitley take the chance going at the same time again.

Yup. I remember looking in that when I planned my 2008 Wedding there.

LY There was a hurricane on 10/30... the largest hurricane they have had in years... I know this b/c I was stuck in Barbados for days after that, with no electric, phones etc... Roads were horrible, Hotels were horrible, Trees were in the pools, Roads were covered in debris (That was the first hurricane that hit barbados in like 30 years!)
It is hurricane season, it will rain, but not everyday all day, but it will rain... but literally that was the exact week of the hurricane Last year that was a Real Disaster in St. Lucia, Barbados, and several other islands.
ETA... my friends were in St. Lucia 2 weeks before that b/c they were in St. Lucia for their Honeymoon, adn then met me in Barbados... it was nice, but it did rain, but again... not all day and not everyday... But its the risk of traveling in hurricane season.
