Sprint Vent - Anyone have any experience with disputing charges?
I am really mad at myself to start with. I need to check my bills better and not pay every other month like I do. That said, I got my monthly "reminder" that I need to pay my bill and was given an absurd amount due. I went online to look at my bill and I see data charges. I look at my last bill and I see data charges. $75 last month and $75 this month. I have a family plan for $99 a month so this is nearly doubling my bill. On top of that, we dont use data. So I call...they insist that there is data useage and that $75 is the MAX overage they charge They do more research and it would appear that I have been getting data charges since January Fine...they put it in dispute and said "maybe" they'll give me a credit. I just looked up their plans and they have an unlimited data plan for $29 additional a month from what I am playing. Isnt reasonable to assume that if they give me some song and dance about data being activated on my phone that I can ask them to knock it down at least to an additional $29 and and NOT $75? The woman is trying to tell me its related to picture mail (really? the last picture I got was in April, so how do I have data usages as recent as today?). And once again, I'm so ticked off that I have just been blindly paying this stupid bill

First of all, I'm sorry that you are not happy with what's going on with your bill.
The woman was correct, if you do not have a data plan and you use data, the maximum they will charge you is $75 per month.
Did the person tell you whether or not there was data usage on alll the phones on the account? Or is it just one? I would imagine that the challenge for you is that you have been paying the bills since Januray without disputing the data charges so they are going to wonder why all of a sudden you are disputing it.
Did the representative tell you they were going to get back in touch with you or do you have to call back?

To be honest, I accepted part of the responsiblity and said I wasnt even concerned about going back to January. That I only noticed it on these past two bills and that was what I disputing. She took it upon herself to retro the dispute to January. there are data charges on all the phones expect the majority of the usage is on mine (there were various small amts on DH's phone and various small misc charges (in addition to the max data charge). I feel like these small charges are the picture mails which I get maybe once or twice a month. Like I said, i dont use the data feature on my phone. We only use it to talk or text (which we have an unlimited plan for). She said that I will hear back from her after they investigate where these charges are originating from.
