Last year it didn't open until the tail end of June. We were there Monday and there was no action. They weren't even there to charge cars or check for a town pass.

do you know where it is? a friend couldnt think of the name of the road she remembered a hess gas station on montauk hwy she said it was 25.00 a car load and it had a restaurant/bar and play area for the kids.
could you tell me more about it? thank you so much!!!

It's down Linton Street (I think that's the name) Go south from Montauk Hwy, it's a few blocks east of Wellwood, make a right (going south) and continue all the way down and follow the road.

What is it?
Venetian Shores is a town beach that has a sprinkler park, beach area, concession stand, small bar, playground, boat launch and a sprinkler area. In the sprinkler area, they have things like huge statues that spray water and buckets that hang up high & drop water on the kids periodically.
I am looking forward to it this year; my DD was too young to enjoy it last year.
ETA: It's off of Venetian and/or Granada (both off of Montauk Hwy.).

If you are a resident, you can buy a pass for the local beaches. You can still go to the park if you aren't a resident but it's expensive (from what I've heard)...$20-something per car.

Venetian and Tanner Park both have the sray/sprinkler pool with the beach and concession stand now....It wasn't open yet as of the other day...
Tanner Park is in Copiague off of Montauk Highway.

I think most of these place don't open til late June b/c they have to wait for the high school kids to get out to lifeguard. At least that's what I've been told...
Thanks for the info on the park though. Even though it's $20+ per car, I'll load my family and my SIL's into the car and we'll split the price!
