Spring Hill Nursery

Anyone order from them before?

How do their plants or trees come? I'm sure very very small......

Is it worth it? Will I even see what I plant this spring this summer?

Thanks!

Re: Spring Hill Nursery

last year was the first time I was really unhappy. I placed a big order in March, alot of the stuff died, they replaced some of it but were a pain about it & we'll see this year how many of the bulbs I got from them come back up.
I've decided to only buy from local growers from now on.

Re: Spring Hill Nursery

My mom really likes them.
All the plants come as bulbs or really small. They don't flourish the first year but hopefully will come back this year really nice. At least that what my mom said will happen.. They were bulbs that optimially should have gone through the whole freeze and thaw cycle and didn't becuase They were put in the ground when they had little buds so they grew.. just small. I have high hopes for a great garden this year though.
My mom has used them forever. She is really good at the whole gardening thing and can make anything grow though..lol
so we will see.

I have ordered from them a few times, a few plants in one shipment were damaged and they credited me and shipped everything out again, for free.

Everything I have gotten from them (perennials) comes back beautiful.

Yes they are small plants/trees, (they arrive the size stated in the catalog) I don't know of anyone that is going to ship a mature tree in the mail and what would that cost anyway! Chat Icon
For that you would need to go to your local nursery or landscaper.

Re: Spring Hill Nursery

I've ordered almost my whole garden from them:
3 lilac bushes
6 azaleas
16 rose bushes
6 bellflower
6 winter begonia
6 blushing bride
12 Italia lilies
4 reblooming daylilies
3 American spirit lilies
25 strawberry plants
3 hosta
10 lewisia

When DH and I bought our house 2 years ago we took out every bush and plant because it was a mess. I order all this stuff from Springhill and I've been very happy. The plants are very small, but produce flowers their first season (except the lilacs, but this season they already have buds on them). Springhill has a lifetime guarentee which I needed to use on a couple of the rose bushes that didn't survive the winter, but the customer service is great and the prices are great. I had a 50% off of your order up to $500. Also they always offer $25 off of a $50 purchase.

I would say if you're willing to wait a couple of seasons for the size than they are they way to go. You still have life on the plants, they are just small.

Re: Spring Hill Nursery

They are great fro do it yourself gardens. Don't expect what you see in your local nursery, these are babies. And the bulbs are great!!!!
