You can decide the schedule you want. I do 1 a month with my dd and only the ones that are absolutely necessary.
I suggest doing some research before agreeing to anything. Its an extremely important decision and you should not follow a drs advice blindly. There may be some unfounded info on the web you can find useful info regrading the shots whats in them the additives and perservatives and most importantly the mercury.
Just do what you feel is best for you and your family. Whether your child will be in daycare can impact the schedule as well. My dd is not in daycare.

Re: spread out vaccines?
For my own kids, I only had them receive one or two shots per visit. For me the deciding factor was how many vaccines were contained within the individual shots. Multiple vaccine shots were only one per visit. I would go every two weeks within the few month range of when the specific shots were supposed to be given, so my kids were always "on time" with their vaccination schedule, but I spread them out per the ok of their pediatrician.

Re: spread out vaccines?
at each visit I say only one shot. SO in the beginning I had to go to the ped every 2 weeks for like the first 3 or 4 months....then any well visit it is only one shot for my boys. I will never dble up on them. Does it make a difference honestly I do not scientifically know but I feel better about it
