Spray Tan?
I have two weddings coming up in the summer. And I'm horribly white- I really would love some color but I don't plan on sitting in the sun or in a tanning bed. Are spray tans safe?? As it gets closer I'll definitly be asking my OB, but I was wondering what everyone's thoughts were... TIA

Re: Spray Tan?
I got spray tanned when I was pregnant with DS#1. I had a girl come to myhouse, we kept taking breaks so that i didnt keep inhaling the stuff. I was fine and my dr was fine with it.

Re: Spray Tan?
So funny- I was going to ask this today too!
I don't care how white I am when I'm bundled up but by May/June I want to look glowing

Re: Spray Tan?
Ive read many many places that spray tan is NOT safe at all when pregnant... And some tanning salons actually refuse to spray tan pregnant women...
Inhaling that stuff is toxic and they dont know all the ingredients that are in the spray tan stuff and how it can affect the baby... Plus your covering such a wide area (your entire body/face-every inch) and its all getting soaked into your pores... Your breathing it in even after they are done spraying you because you know your body has an odor after that... Research it and definately talk to your ob before doing it... My ob said no way... And a few of my friends ob's told them no way...
I know different drs say different things and certain recommendations are based on patient's history... So its completely up to you and what you feel comfortable with and what your dr recommends... Thats the bottom line... As you can see from the other posters their drs said it was ok...
Personally, I come from the rather be safe than sorry school and Im extra cautious with my pregnancy due to my history... So I just do what I feel comfortable with... everyone is different

Re: Spray Tan?
i remember when i put a hold on my package at beach bum tanning, one of the girls there suggested spray tanning to me. she said they have a few pregnant women that do it - i forget what she said the 'ingrediants' are but apparantly they are all natural. they are a reputable chain so i'm sure you could find one in your area to call and inquire as to what is actually IN it, and then check with your ob.
