SPR: Nikon 3000 or Canon Rebel?

Hey ladies, we're in the market for a new camera...venturing into the SLR market. We've always loved our Nikons.

Want to hear the pros/cons of both from those that have/use them.

I'd be using the auto mode for the most part. I'm a true beginner.

Thank you!

I don't have any experience with the Canon but I've heard great things. I looked at both the Canon Rebel and the D3000. I found the Rebel to be much heavier than the D3000. DH ended up getting me the D3000 for Christmas and I couldn't be happier. It's super easy to use and takes great pictures, even on auto mode.

I'm a Nikon girl. I have heard great review on the Nikon D3000. And a professional photographer I know says that the menus and layouts for the Nikons are easier (I have no experience with a Canon DSLR, so I can't really comment).

Re: SPR: Nikon 3000 or Canon Rebel?

I have the canon xsi and I like it, the guy at B&H actually at the Nikon counter told me to get the Canon, not sure why, but I'm looking to get rid of my Canon and upgrade to a Nikon D90...I've heard better reviews on Nikon, and more information in general on Nikons...
