SPR - WWYD?
DH's birthday is this coming Friday
There are also 2 other birthdays coming up in our group of friends - one of them being a 40th. Everyone wants to go out this weekend to celebrate. Fine, can't wait. Only problem is that we're the only people that don't have a sitter (everyone in our group has kids). Neither my parents nor my IL's can watch James and I'm not comfortable leaving him with anyone else just yet - he's just a little over 4 months old.
DH wanted to see if everyone wanted to come over here to hang out and stuff because of it, but I think people wanted to go OUT out, KWIM? Do I just stay home with James while everyone (including my DH) goes out? DH doesn't want that - he wants to be with me to celebrate his birthday.
What would you do? Is there another solution that I'm not seeing/thinking about?

Re: SPR - WWYD?
I'd offer to stay home, and if DH doesn't want that, then offer up your house...
If no one wants to do that, then I guess you are SOL. Sucks though
I will say that Christopher has been every where. We went to a 30th birthday at a bar/bowling alley (my family owns it) when he was 9 months old at 10pm, he went on a cruise and was out every night with us...
So, I guess if the place is accommodating, you could try to bring him...

V-is there a dinner part? Maybe you can suggest a resturant and at least you guys can go out to dinner and bring Master James.
If I were in NY, I would babysit my FSIL!

I would have no problem bringing him anywhere - he's very adaptable- but a few years ago, friends (in the group) brought their 3-month old to a bar and they never heard the end of it. People still bring it up now, over 3 years later "Remember the time S & L brought J to that bar? "
I had a feeling I'd be SOL with this.

No one even knows the plan yet - all we know is that we're getting together *somewhere* to do *something*. Thanks for the offer, though!

Re: SPR - WWYD?
Leave him with my parent's this weekend... LOL! My parents are watching Mason at our house b/c we have a friend's wedding further out East and may stay over.
What about having your friend's over for a drink or something on the earlier side b4 they go out so you can see everyone and celebrate for a bit?
I'd do the same thing... tell DH to go out and I know he wouldn't.

Is there a close cousin you trust? A SIL? If there is no one else and DH doesn't want to go without you I would try to plan something else for his birthday. I'm sure he won't mind if it's just the two of you on another night.
Maybe he can go and have a few drinks with them after dinner.

Re: SPR - WWYD?
since you're all in a group and they all have sitters, could you perhaps, if the sitter and one of your friends agrees to it and you're comfortable with it, leave your child with one of the sitters of one of the other kids?
Not sure the sitter will want to watch an extra kid, but the offer of some extra money always does wonders.
