spotting in early weeks
yesterday i woke up to some spotting, so of course (TMI) i dug around up there to see what was going on and ther was some red blood, so i assumed it would be over (only in my 5th week) as the day went on there was less and less, by last night there was nothing. of course this morning the spotting started again. most times there is nothing on the TP, i have to go in to see what going on. i do have cramps on and off, but i have for the last week. Has this happend to anyone and the pregnancy lasted? i had bloodwork drawn yesterday but they only do hsg, no progesterone.

Re: spotting in early weeks
I spotted my entire first trimester and there was no digging needed. It was heavy and bright red at times (I am not the norm.). A small amount is completely normal, but call your doctor to ease your mind.

Re: spotting in early weeks
It could be a million different things and I know this is going to be very difficult but dont google anymore cause youll end up reading too many horror stories that will FREAK YOU OUT! And it could totally be nothing...
First off you called your dr right? They shoud do a sono and exam... It could just be old blood, it could just be some spotting which is normal in about 50% of pregnancies... The only way you will feel better is to make an emergency appointment with your dr and let them examine you...
After that to be honest all they can do is tell you to wait and see... As long as you dont have heavy bleeding and severe cramps it should be ok... But only a Dr can give you a concrete answer... I wish you the VERY best of luck I know that this can extremely scary... Stay positive and try to take it easy... If you can try to stay off your feet, dont lift anything heavy, dont run or do anything strenous until you see your Dr...

Re: spotting in early weeks
With my last pregnancy, i spotted for weeks from 7 weeks on. There was no rhyme or reason for it. But i went on to have 2 healthy babies. This pregnancy, i am only 7W6D as of today and i stared spotting a littl last night. I'm not really concerned because they did find a clot in my first sono at 5W3D. They told me to expect some spotting. At my next sono at 7 weeks exactly the clot started breaking up and they said i can still expect some spotting. I would definitely call your OB just to get checked out but spotting can be very normal.

Ihad that starting after my first sono at 5 weeks. I completely freaked out, and they found no cause for spotting. About 1-2 weeks after my progesterone dropped and i was started on progesterone suppositories, after that, no more bleeding.. good luck, but call your doc.

Re: spotting in early weeks
I started spotting the night before my first doctor's appointment. He said it was normal but that I shouldn't do any physical activity. It lasted about 6 weeks. Everything is fine. I can exercise again and the baby is doing great. Don't despair. Just see what your doctor says.
